Kozara Situated between the rivers Una, Sava, Sana, and Vrbas in the northwest of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the dense forest and hilly meadows have earned it the nickname of the 'Green Beauty of the Krajina'. Kozara was proclaimed a protected national forest in 1967. Kozara has been a popular hunting spot with over 18,000 hectares of regulated hunting areas with a wide range of game such as deer, wild hare, boar, fox, martens, pheasants, and wild duck. Photo safaris, walking, herb and flower picking, biking, jogging, and climatic treatment have a long tradition in Kozara. Cool walks through conifer forests or strolls through wild flower covered hills and meadows make it an ideal place for a break from the rat race.
Just 20 minutes outside of Sarajevo, the Bjelašnica mountain range towers up above the skyline. Bjelašnica hosted several components of the 1984 Winter Olympic Games.
